With more than 30 years of nursing experience, Maureen Fitzpatrick joined the team in 2004 after a decade of teaching graduate nursing students at the University of Miami School of Nursing and in faculty practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Previously she held positions as a hospital staff nurse in Cardiac and Surgical Intensive Care Units as well as postpartum and newborn nursery areas. As the Research and Education Specialist, Ms. Fitzpatrick collaborates with clinicians to design, develop, and implement simulation training programs, as well as participates in simulation scenarios. Other responsibilities include grant writing, preparation and presentation of professional abstracts, as well as posters and journal papers on patient safety issues. |
